On November 15, 2011, Peterson Motor Company joined Idaho’s National Philanthropy Day Celebration. This day was set aside to honor and recognize the work of Idaho businesses, nonprofits, volunteers and donors. The AFP sets aside this day to recognize the great contributions of philanthropy. This year Mark Peterson of Peterson Motor Company was awarded the Outstanding Corporation (small) for the Peterson’s Partners in Giving Program.

When the economy took a turn for the worse in 2008, Mark Peterson, owner and CEO of Peterson Motors, showed the community that good can exist even in the midst of hard times. In 2010, he created the “Peterson’s Partners in Giving” program that has raised over $150,000, donating to nearly 300 local, national charities such as the Boise Rescue Mission, Idaho Youth Ranch and the Idaho Humane Society. Over 1,500 car buyers participated in the program, which donated $100 per sale to the charity of their choice.
